...A Little History... |
|
|
In the food business, we all know the
product of a company has to be of the quality that will bring folks
back to try it again and to get the folks interested takes a lot of
marketing. Companies need to advertise and demo their products
to potential customers and to develop a good story to go along with
the product, always helps. |

Some companies have to create a story,
the Cornet Bay Company is fortunate, in that our story is true, and
it has proven to be a wonderful vehicle for our business.
In the logo are four boats tied to a
dock, and on the island in the background, a house sits atop a
hill...this is Cornet Bay, located on Whidbey Island, WA, where
Arnie Deckwa was born and raised. It is this scene Arnie and
his wife Joanne, enjoy every day at Cornet Bay. |

The dock was built with the help of
local commercial fisherman including Arnie's dad, Oliver Deckwa.
The only boats tied to the dock are those boats that Oliver built,
he and Arnie both commercially fished. At age fourteen
Arnie took the helm of the "Charlotte D.". named after Arnie's
sister, while his dad fished the ROCA, which stood for Rena, Oliver,
Charlotte and Arnie. |

The house in the background is where
Arnie's father and mother, Rena, spent their honeymoon. Arnie's parents
made their living from the sea and spent their lives in Cornet Bay.
Arnie and Joanne are continuing the family heritage by living in the
family home and running their business from Cornet Bay. |
